Winning a local talent contest led them to record Shes Not There (and its B-Side You Make Me Feel So Good) and then The Zombies were off and runningShes Not There reached Number 12 in the U.K helped by a thumbs-up from George Harrison on T.Vs influential Juke Box Jury. The Zombies fast became one of the biggest bands of the mid-60s. In 1967, a new deal found them at Abbey Road, while in the studio next door The Beatles were fashioning Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. Released in 1968, Odessey & Oracle is widely hailed as one of the key albums of the late 60s and was ranked No. 80 in Rolling Stone Magazine poll for the greatest albums of all time.
