Long revered for his iconic collaborations with Studio Ghibli, Hisaishi makes his long-awaited American film score debut with a sweeping, emotionally rich composition that perfectly complements this earnest, heart-on-its-sleeve romantic drama. Evoking the delicate intimacy of scores like Amlie (composed by Yann Tiersen), Hisaishis work here is tender, melodic, and deeply cinematic.
The album also features five performances by Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter Laufey, alongside a stunning cover of Let My Love Open The Door by Mitski, originally written by Pete Townshend.
