This 1989 release from the German band Paradox was a full-fledged concept album, commemorating the 13th century Albigensian Crusade that sought to eliminate the heretical Cathar sect. And truly, no foe could withstand the twin guitar attack, soaring harmonies, and machine-like rhythm section of this band. Other like-minded members of this particular metal horde include Anthrax, Testament, and Exodus, but really, Heresy is a one-of-a-kind record, and a hard act to follow, as this was the last release from Paradox for eleven years. For its U.S. vinyl debut, weve pressed up a limited edition of 1000 copies in dark gray inquisitors robe vinyl, which comes in an album jacket with inner sleeve featuring lyrics.
